The AMSAT-UK International Space Colloquium is held at the Holiday Inn Guildford, GU2 7XZ, usually on the last weekend in July (except 2012). It is open to all, not just AMSAT-UK members.
The event kicks off with a Beginners session on the Friday afternoon. Over the weekend there are about 16 presentations on Amateur Satellites and Space related topics.
The RSGB GB4FUN radio communications demonstration centre, is on-site for the duration of the colloquium and enables visitors to work the satellites as time and passes allow.
The AMSAT-UK shop and RSGB bookstore always prove popular.
The colloquium attracts an international audience from across Europe as well as North America and the Middle East. Attendees range from the builders of the CubeSats and Nanosats, those who communicate through them and beginners who wish to find out more about this fascinating branch of the hobby.
It provides a rare opportunity to chat with satellite designers and builders, discussions frequently continue until the early hours of the morning.
A Gala dinner is held on the Saturday evening along with the fund raising auction.
