This is the first call for speakers for the 23rd Amsat-UK Colloquium which will be held at Surrey University, Guildford, Surrey, U.K., from Friday 25 July to Sunday 27 July 2008.

Reports are being posted on the AMSAT Bulletin Board for some of the 6 Amateur Radio satellites launched earlier this morning. The latest satellite to be heard is Delfi-C3 on 145.930 MHz.

In the years ahead, it is possible that you may hear OSCAR-11, by accident, when tuning round the frequency. If you are able to record the satellite on audio tape or as a WAV file (not MP3), please do so, as it is unlikely that it will be heard on the next pass!

Telemetry decoding software for the Amateur Radio satellite Delfi-C3 is being made available.

RASCAL is the name of the software package that the Delfi-C3 team are offering to radio-amateurs around the world to enable them to collect and decode data of the Delfi-C3 satellite.

An Indian rocket will this week send six Amateur Radio satellites into a 630 km 90 degree sun-synchronous orbit from the launch site at Sriharikota.

Members of University staff will no doubt have seen recent reports in the media regarding the funding of the e-MERLIN project and the implications for the future of Jodrell Bank.

One aspect of Amateur Satellite operating that has been growing in popularity is capturing telemetry data from the many Amateur satellites now in orbit. It's a lot of fun and Amateurs can provide invaluable research data that would otherwise be lost.
