For some time now there has been a keen interest in the University Satellite Community to produce a system by which all the various educational ground stations around the world could be linked into a real-time network to enable the uploading of telecommands to, and downloading of telemetry from, low earth orbiting satellites to take place for hours rather than minutes every day.
