NASA's "Ice Team" is at the launch pad to inspect the exterior, fuel tank and other hardware on Space Shuttle Discovery for any evidence of ice or debris. The seven-member team makes this final safety survey for every shuttle launch. All systems onboard the space shuttle are functioning normally and are ready for launch. |

STS-121 UPDATE-3 JULY 2006 |
During a routine inspection overnight after the draining of the external fuel tank, a crack was discovered in the foam near a bracket that holds the liquid oxygen feedline in place. This piece of foam has been estimated to be 0.0057 pounds. |
