HITSAT Amateur CubeSat to Launch September 23rd

Mineo Wakita JE9PEL has passed on the information that the launch date of the HITSAT satellite is currently September 23rd. HITSAT was developed by the student association "Hokkaido Space Union" of the Hokkaido Institute of Technology. It will be launched from the Uchinoura Space Center on the M-V-7 rocket as a sub-payload. The main-payload of the launch is SOLAR-B. www.isas.jaxa.jp/e/enterp/missions/solar-b/

It is planned to go into a sun synchronous orbit with an orbital altitude at perigee of 250km and 600km at apogee with an inclination of 97.79 degrees.

HITSAT is a 12cm cube with a mass of 2.2 kg. It carries a 100 milliwatt CW beacon on 437.275 MHz and an FM transmitter on 437.425 MHz with a 145.980 MHz uplink.
