Sky @ Night: 650th programme

This morning at 01:55am on BBC ONE, was the 650th episode of 'The Sky at Night'. The programme was originally scheduled to appear at 11:15pm on the Sunday night but was pushed back to this timeslot by a repeat of Match of the Day and some Film or other.  Needless to say some of us weren't too pleased with the BBC for doing that - including the programme presenter Sir Patrick Moore.

Sir Patrick Moore has been the presenter of all but one episode of the Sky at Night, making it the longest running TV programme with the same presenter.

This episode featured British-born astronaut Piers Sellers talking to Sir Patrick Moore about life orbiting the earth and the future of the manned space programme. Chris Lintott previewed NASA's forthcoming rescue mission to the Hubble space telescope.

The TV programme is to be repeated a couple of times over the coming weeks with the first two repeats on BBC FOUR at 19:30 tonight (08/01/2007) and at 02:45 tomorrow morning (09/01/2007) and then again on BBC TWO at 12:30 (13/01/2007) and copy should appear on the Sky at Night website soon.

(I was in bed asleep when the programme aired this morning, but capured it on my EyeTV DVB-T system....JH)
