Amateur Radio Satellite Delfi-C3 Launch Window Announced

The Delfi-C3 team has received an official launch window from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) regarding the launch of PSLV-C9 which will carry Delfi-C3 into space.

The official window runs from the 7th of January to the 10th of January 2008. This means that the launch of Delfi-C3 slips once again. The new launch window, however, is the first official message we have received regarding a launchdate and accounts for both the weather and the launch of the preceding PSLV.

Delfi-C3 will be launched into a 630 km 90 degree sun-synchronous orbit from the Indian launch site at Sriharikota and will carry a 70 cm to 2 metre linear transponder for SSB and CW working. The satellite will be in telemetry only mode for approximately the first three months of the mission, after which it will be switched to transponder mode.
